I spent my childhood in Yorkshire. I was always keen on art and spent much of my time drawing.
I studied a BA Hons in Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1999. I then went on to do an MA in Sequential Illustration at Brighton University. The work I produced during my studies was mainly print-based and I often made artist books. I was fortunate that when I graduated I lived in Brighton and there were many galleries in which I could show my work.By this time I had begun painting and now this is my main passion. I exhibit throughout the UK now and I am published with Washington Green.
I paint many subjects from landscapes, to florals, to figurative. My main interests are colour and composition. I hope that my paintings have a positive feel to them, whether it is a simple landscape that reminds the viewer of a special place, or a bright canvas to escape grey days.
