I grew up in Yorkshire, where I spent my days playing in my parents garden and the surrounding countryside. I drew all the time and still do.
I studied a BA Hons in Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1999. I then went on to do an MA in Sequential Illustration at Brighton University. The work I produced during my studies was mainly print-based and I often made artist books.
I began painting after University and this is now my main passion.
I have recently returned to Yorkshire, and I now live in Hebden Bridge.
My paintings have been published by Milkwood Publishing and my prints can be found in the Whistlefish Galleries, Cornwall and the Janet Bell Gallery, Anglesey. I have been published internationally by Washington Green.
My paintings are exhibited throughout the UK, including Bluemoon Gallery, Tunbridge Wells, The Janet Bell Gallery, Anglesey, Flowers Gallery, Bosham, Sarah Wiseman Gallery, Oxford, Harrison Lord Gallery, Brighouse, The Design Shop,Deanclough, Halifax, and Heart Gallery, Hebden Bridge.
I paint many subjects from landscapes, to florals, to figurative. My main interests are colour and composition. I hope that my paintings have a positive feel to them, whether it is a simple landscape that reminds the viewer of a special place, or a bright canvas to escape grey days.
